Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association CPRA

Formed in 1992 by a small group of producers and contestants, the CPRA put $25,000 of added money into its first finals at Lufkin, Texas. Membership passed 900 the following year, drawing from Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mexico, and by 1995 it was sanctioning more than sixty rodeos a season. Its events reach this catalog largely through co-approval, so a CPRA card commonly shares a rodeo with UPRA or IPRA.
